Architect and photographer Jorg Becker grew up in Saarland and Lorraine. He began drawing intensively in early childhood. His love for the visual arts - inspired by Impressionist works and classical art- is reflected in the style and choice of subjects in his photographs.
Becker’s portfolio encompasses virtually the entire spectrum of fine art photography, from landscape and nature photography, nude and portrait photography, life-scenes and still lifes, to conceptual photography.
Yet, he always returns to impressionistic fine art photography, which allows him to forget the ills of this highly manipulated society.
Jorg Becker consistently pursues a distinctive artistic vision. He is an intuitive artist: a vision forms in his mind's eye, from which he develops his work—predominantly using fast lenses and natural light.
Timelessness, sensuality, and intimacy are recurring themes in his work.
He is drawn to the shapes, lines, and color nuances he perceives in his subjects.
He generally photographs his female models in highly sensual, almost poetic scenes rather than in conventional nude portraits. He loves capturing female beauty from a male perspective—thereby creating an ethereal, at times perhaps slightly unreal, image. Dreams, after all.
